The Belle of Louisville is the oldest river steamboat still in operation. She first started in 1914 as a passenger ferry between Memphis, Tennessee and West Memphis, Arkansas. She was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1989, and I took this picture when she was being painted for her 90th birthday in 2004. The Belle continues to be owned and operated by the Louisville Metro Government on the Ohio river, Louisville, Kentucky.
